TMT: This Is For The Birds
Tell Me Thursday for: This Is For The Birds…
This is all Wrangler’s fault. He has some strange chicken fascination. For as long as I can remember, he’s been asking for one. When we moved into our new home this summer, he asked for a chicken. AGAIN. I used the excuse that the new neighbors wouldn’t appreciate it. Five minutes later he returned from introducing himself to the neighbors and told me THEY had a chicken. ::Grumble::
I don’t know what’s gotten into me. Maybe the economy is freaking me out. Or maybe this ol’ battle axe is softening up some. Even my kids think I’ve flipped my lid, now. I actually allowed them to buy baby chicks with the Christmas money they’ve been holding on to all these months!
I only wanted two chicks, one for each kiddo, but the man at Atwoods said he couldn’t tell if they were boys or girls and I ONLY wanted females. I decided to round out the odds by getting two chicks per kid. You watch… all four will live and be roosters!

This is the first day home. I’ve gone gaga. Look how sweet they are!

We have a pecker on our hands… Biscuit calls it DOT. I don’t think it fits.

I could almost hear the conversation going on. They are so funny.

This chick just isn’t convinced pecking an escape route will work.

It’s time to clean their box up so I transfer them back to the smaller box we brought them home in. I can’t believe how much they’ve grown in just 1/2 a week’s time! Apparently, neither can they!

Biscuit calls this one Dash. I’ve got a new name for him, since he jumped out of the box as soon as I put him in!

Ok, so Ms. Einstein decided to RAISE the flaps up on the box when Houdini was returned to the box…

They didn’t think my sarcasm was very clever. In fact, they showed me exactly what they thought about it as soon as I placed them back in their cleaned up home!

ROFL! Thanks for the laugh today!
Oh that was good. I loved the photos and the sarcasm all over them. Thanks for sharing!
Keeping the bar high! Love it!
You my dear, are a GOOD mommy and I love how you tell the tale. I will not let my children see these pictures…or they’ll be begging for chicks next. I only just have them resigned to the fact we are NOT getting a dog.
ROFLOL love how you tell the story behind the WW photos. They are cute little things but I’m glad it’s you and your kids that are dealing with them and not me and my son…no thanks. lol
OMG! You have a gift, my friend! LMAO
